“Giant water slide” by Luke Jerram

“It’s safe to say that commuting to work can be a hellish experience, full of traffic jams, backed-up trains, and angry drivers. But, what if we could transform that time spent into a playful and fun adventure?

Dreamt up by artist Luke Jerram, a giant water slide in central Bristol could provide city dwellers with a fun new mode of transport, if just for a day. The artist has previously brought pianos to the streets of New York and London and created the largest solar powered light fixture in the world.”

A good example of cultural sustainability where the inhabitants of a city are more included in its design process whereas the installation aims to be an urban element enjoyed by the people.
