“In 1997 the association began recycling remnants of bicycles to transform them into bikemachines. The bikemachines are washing machines, mixers or shredders pedal, which exploit the kinetic energy to eliminate the need for fuel and electricity. Also can be used as water pumps, with the ability to extract 30 liters of water per minute from wells to 30 meters (electronic pumps reach only 12 meters). “

What Are Bicimáquinas?

Bikemachines are pedal-powered machines that assist with a variety of jobs in the home, on the farm, on the road and in small businesses. Each bikemachine is handmade in our workshop using a combination of old bikes, concrete, wood, and metal. So far, we have developed several original designs that have proven to be both functional and economical.”
