Venice Takeaway: The Dutch Way.

“Prototype floating housing scheme in the east of Amsterdam.

Once again dealing with the Venice Biennale, we find the dRMM’s project in “Venice Takeaway” exhibition at the British Pavilion. It is an investigation about Ijburg, a prototype floating housing scheme in the east of Amsterdam designed by Architect Marlies Rohmer.(…)

Alex de Rijke of dRMM (and professor of architecture at the London Royal College of Art) wants to try this experience in the Royal London Docks. With this proposal, dRMM presents a provocative case for increasing density in a city that has little space left to build by activating some of its most underused areas: its waterways.”
